At the time of starting the job, candidates should have a doctoral degree in Statistics or a related field obtained at a good standing institution. Appointees will be expected to pursue a vigorous research program and to teach three undergraduate/graduate courses in Spanish (after some training if required). The teaching load is reduced to only 2 courses per year during the first two years. For exceptional candidates there is a possibility of been appointed at the Associate Professor level.

The Department of Statistics is a leading research group in LatinAmerica and offers undergraduate, Master’s and a Ph.D. degree in Statistics. The Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile is a highly selective institution and its students are among the top 5% in the country.
